March is an exciting month for NSA! Events like the Reel Contest and SEE will take place, along with the start of elections for the 2026-2027 StuCo members. If you are considering joining StuCo next year, interested in attending calls for SEE, or simply curious about NSA’s events, this article is for you!
In February, NSA's Reel Contest ran from the 9th to the 27th. Students around the world submitted a 30-60 second video related to their life at NSA. This could be a day-in-the-life, a video about the student’s favorite class, skills from an NSA student, and more. The videos submitted were graded based on film quality and content, as well as overall creativity and originality. The winners will be announced mid-March. There are even Amazon gift cards as prizes with up to $100 given to first place.
The next event that happened in March was SEE, NSA’s Spiritual Emphasis Event from March 11-13th. The event set aside time for people to hear from different speakers and dive into God’s Word through live sessions. These calls featured the speaker’s presentation at the beginning and a reflection portion towards the end. Over the span of three days, students had the opportunity to learn and reflect on different aspects of the Bible by reading, reflecting, and praying. StuCo Vice President Zoe B. says students heard from NSA staff and alumni on the topics of the resurrection and its application. When asked about her favorite parts of SEE, Zoe stated, “I love getting to hear about different people and grow alongside my fellow students, but most of all I love the fact that a large part of the student body gets excited to grow in our faith together.”
Finally, Student Council elections will kick off on March 30! The five-week election process will include everything from nominations to voting. Be on the lookout for campaigns and forms to vote for whom you want to lead next year.
NSA’s StuCo President Michaela O. has been with NSA’s Student Council for five years. Each year she has had a different role with StuCo. “Throughout all those roles, something I've really enjoyed is getting to know the student body better. StuCo has given me so many opportunities to build really amazing relationships and connections with so many NSA students and it's been something that has made my time at NSA really special.” Her advice to students considering joining is this: “Don't be afraid to jump in! No one has a perfect start, and taking a jump into something new could introduce you to so many amazing, unexpected opportunities!”
There is always something exciting to look forward to at NSA. Feel free to reach out to members of StuCo or staff involved through Teams to learn more about upcoming events! Don’t forget to nominate your picks for next year’s StuCo in the coming weeks.
