Meet The Staff!

Mrs. Meyer - Teacher Advisor

Mrs. April Meyer has been teaching English courses at NorthStar Academy for ten year. This is her fifth year as the teacher advisor for the Navigator. When she is not helping her students, she spends time with her husband and three girls. She has lived on the Great Lakes for her entire life and loves collecting rocks on the beach. 

Lydia N. - Editor-in-Chief/Writer

Lydia N. is starting her fourth year on the NorthStar Navigator and her third as editor-in-chief. She is also the vice president of student council this year and enjoys traveling, singing, acting, performing on stage, writing, reading, watching shows, drinking coffee and tea, hanging out with friends, and cuddling with her dog, Pippin. She plans to go to college online and start her own business after high school with all the skills that StuCo and the Navigator have taught her.

John C. - EIC Assistant/Writer

John C. lives in the Middle East with his parents. He is in eleventh grade and has been studying at NorthStar for five years. This year is John's second year with the Navigator, and he is working as the assistant editor-in-chief. John enjoys working out, playing basketball, playing video games, watching TV, and listening to music.

Aaron E. - PR representative/Writer

Aaron E. is a high school student from the northeast coast of the USA. This is his third year at NorthStar Academy and his second year on the Navigator staff. He is excited to serve as the Navigator's PR Coordinator again this year. Aaron enjoys spending time in nature with family and friends and exploring it from the water. He loves most anything related to science, technology, nature, and engineering. Some of his hobbies are freshwater fishing, reading, and digital 3D modeling.

Chesed F. - Social media Manager/Writer

Chesed F. lives in Colorado with her mom, sister, and golden retriever named Khusi. She is sixteen years old and has been a student at NorthStar for two years. Chesed has been dancing for eight years, with a specific focus on ballet. As well as being on the Navigator staff, Chesed is a member of National Honors Society and spends her free time volunteering to help underprivileged children with literacy. She hopes to pursue a career in law and hopes to always incorporate the beauty of writing and words into her daily life.

Onyinyechi U. - Editor/WRiter

Onyinyechi U. lives in Pennsylvania with her parents and two siblings. She is a tenth grader, and this is her third year at NSA. She recently started writing for the Navigator. In her free time, she enjoys writing novels, plays, and poetry.

Jonah S. - Editor/WRiter

Jonah S. has been at NorthStar Academy for the past two years. He lives in the Middle-East with his younger brother and parents. Some of the things he enjoys includes reading, writing, playing video games, watching movies, and building legos. He also enjoys music, viola being his primary instrument.

Michael C. - Images Manager/Writer

Michael C. lives in South Asia with his parents and three siblings. He is in 11th grade and has been at NSA for four years. His hobbies include working out, listening to music, and reading Stephen King books.

Jared L. - Images Manager/WRiter

Jared L. lives in North Carolina with his parents and two dogs. He is a sophomore in his fourth year at NorthStar Academy. Some of his interests include running a small-time YouTube channel as well as making mini films.  In addition to being on the Navigator for his first year, he is also a part of NSA's student council, as well as NSA's Esport team.

Avery P. - Writer

Avery P. lives in Memphis, Tennessee, with her parents, and three siblings. This is her second year at Northstar and her first writing for the Navigator. Avery enjoys reading, hanging out with friends, and being at church. In the future, Avery hopes to pursue a future in education.

Alexander M. - Writer

Alexander M. lives in Georgia, USA, with his parents and younger sister.  He has been a student at NorthStar for a year and is just starting to write for the Navigator.  He likes to play Minecraft with his friends and plays for the different esports teams here at NorthStar Academy.

Graham S. - WRiter

Graham S. lives in Africa, in the Democratic Republic of Congo. He has been studying at Northstar for two years and is in tenth grade. He enjoys reading, writing, video games, Dungeons and Dragons, and Warhammer 40k. He hopes to one day be an author but currently is enjoying being a journalist for the Navigator.
