Meet The Staff!

Mrs. Meyer - Teacher Advisor

Mrs. April Meyer has been teaching English courses at NorthStar Academy for twelve years. This is her sixth year as the teacher advisor for the Navigator. When she is not helping her students, she spends time with her husband and three girls. She has lived on the Great Lakes for her entire life and loves collecting rocks on the beach. 

Alexander M. - Editor-in-Chief/Writer

Alexander M. lives in the state of Georgia in the USA, with his parents and younger sister.  He has been a student at NorthStar Academy for three full years, and this is his fourth year at the Navigator.  He enjoys being a conversation starter, playing video games like Minecraft with his friends, and talking with other students at NorthStar Academy.

Ellie B. - EIC Assistant/Writer

Ellie B. lives in Virginia, USA with her parents, brother, and dogs. This is her fourth year at NSA, and her second year at the Navigator. She has a passion for ballet and has plans to pursue it professionally in the future. Ellie also enjoys reading in her free time. 

Jared l. - PR representative/Writer

Jared L has been at NSA for six years and at The Navigator for three. He lives in the United States and is beginning his pursuit into the veterinarian world of studies. He enjoys when he can allow his creativity to run wild with his hobbies of building Lego sets and painting Warhammer.

Onyinyechi U. - Editor/WRiter

Onyinyechi U. is a senior living in Pennsylvania with her parents and one of her two siblings. This is her fifth year at NSA and her third on the Navigator. In 2025, she made her debut as an author with The Journey, a collection of Christian poems. In her free time, she enjoys listening to classical music. 

Jonah S. - Editor/WRiter

Jonah S. has been at NorthStar Academy for the past four years, this being his fifth and final year. He currently lives in the Middle East with his parents and younger brother. Some of the things he enjoys include reading, writing, watching movies, and playing video games. He also enjoys music, viola being his primary instrument, with piano being his secondary.

Joseph p. - citations Manager/WRiter

Joseph P. lives in Phoenix, USA, with his parents and an older sibling. This is his second year writing at the Navigator, but his fourth year at NorthStar. In his free time, he enjoys watching the birds in his backyard, playing video games, and reading books. In the future, he aspires to become a computer hardware engineer.

brooklyn c. - Image Manager/Writer

Brooklyn C. is in twelfth grade and has been with NSA for four years. She spends her free time painting and drawing, in hopes of pursuing a career in children's book illustration. She also enjoys running, going on walks, listening to music, studying, watching movies, reading and travelling. 

zoe b. - Student Submissions Manager/Writer

Zoe B. lives in Argentina with her parents and one of her two brothers. This is her fourth and last year at NorthStar Academy, as she's currently a senior. This is her second year in the Navigator and in Student Council, where she currently holds the position of Vice President. In her free time, she enjoys going to the gym, reading, baking, and watching Formula 1.

Avery P. - Writer

Avery P. lives in Tennessee with her family. She is a senior and a fourth year NorthStar student, as well as a third year journalist at the Navigator. After graduation, she will be attending community college to pursue a degree in marketing and communications. After college, she hopes to pursue a career in ministry. In her free time, she loves to drink coffee, serve at church, and babysit. 

Andrew W. - writer

Andrew W. lives in the state of North Carolina in the United States. He has been a student at NSA for seven years and is working on his eighth. He has three siblings, all older, who have either graduated from NSA or are still currently attending NSA. Alongside writing for Navigator, Andrew is a part of student council, serving as one of the club coordinators. He enjoys hiking, playing ultimate frisbee, hanging out with friends, and writing down random stuff in his many notebooks.

keziah h. - Writer

Keziah H. lives in East Africa with her parents, two brothers, and a mischievous puppy named Bandit. This is her fifth and last year at NorthStar, and her second year at the Navigator. She likes to read almost any book she can get her hands on, but especially fantasy books. She also enjoys creative writing, coming up with awesome ideas with her brothers, and playing outside. She has been writing stories ever since she can remember and hopes to be an author when she grows up.
