As the ship rested above Zero, all sound was drained aside from the low murmur of the ship’s engines powering down. Navi looked at the docking bay, desolate and ghastly. The area was torn and tattered, terrifically tantalized by some tremendous terror. A small red blip flashed on and off at a small console sat in an office dividing the landing zone from the doors of the large building. Curious, Navi went to investigate, cautiously and firmly planting every step in the ground as he progressed. As he entered the room and sat down at the desk, a chill ran up his spine as the computer whirred to life.
“Hello new user,” the computer chimed. A small cylindrical device whirred into motion, lifting itself from the crevices in which it sat in the device and twisting itself to face Navi directly. “I am Info, your designated assistant into the Zero entity. 1 entity present. Ask any questions you may have at this time.”
Navi was taken aback for a brief moment, stepping back to assess his surroundings. Large walls shown as giants compared to the small astronaut, making the desolate space unnatural and eerie. On the west wall were engraved four simple letters: A, U, T, O. Navi turned to the computer to ask his first question, “What is A.U.T.O.?”
“Please speak into the microphone,” Info swiftly returned. A thin microphone pushed into Navi’s face.
Navi inquired again, “What is A.U.T.O.?”
Info quickly pushed the microphone closer to Navi, almost piercing his visor. “Please speak into the microphone!”
Aggravated, Navi grabbed the thin item and thrusted the device close to his mouth, near swallowing it if not for the veil is the visor. “A.U.T.O! What on earth is A.U.T.O?”
“Welcome in, Ethan Isato,” Info chimed, a large green check symbol displaying
on the way-too-bright screen. The floor beneath trembled as metallic whirrs filled the air. The large doors creaked slowly open, dust falling on the ground before it.
“That’s not-” Navi gave up on finishing his sentence and gave a deep sigh. He opened a dusty cabinet and found within it a flashlight with two batteries. Turning on the newfound tool, he silently crept out of the room and into the opened doorway. The small circular light could not reach the end of what laid before him. He shifted the light towards the right well, revealing a wall with graffiti scribbled all around the surface.
Navi swiftly illuminated the opposing wall as the creaking of metal filled his ears. On the opposing wall sat a large vent, with its metal cover off to the side, dented and scratched.
The computer began flashing a small red light once more, “Two entities present.”
