The Blessing Project

By Avery P.

The holidays are an amazing time to give. Whether it is giving time, money, or even food, giving is something Christians are called to do. That is why the Blessing Project is an important event for NorthStar. If you don’t know what the Blessing Project is, then this article is just right for you. It is a yearly giving project for students, teachers, supervisors, and more. This year NorthStar is raising money for Within Reach Global. This organization reaches the unreached. They take the Gospel to the ends of the earth. Our goal as a school is to raise 6,000 dollars for this organization.

The Bible is very clear on Christians giving and helping others. For example, Romans 12:13 says, “Share with the Lord’s people who are in need. Practice hospitality.” It is evident throughout the Bible that we as Christians are to give generously and without strife. In addition, the Bible says that giving is to be done with a joyful heart. God owns everything, so we should give to further spread the Gospel. This ministry is responding to the call that is written in the Bible. If we donate even a little bit, it still helps this organization. Even if it’s not for the Blessing Project, there are many other organizations who are reaching the unreached. I encourage you to give, whether it's your time, money, or prayer.

Within Reach Global was started in 1998 with a vision to give the unreached the good news. The organization started out of China for fifteen years. In 2013, the organization moved to Thailand. The ministry’s four central focuses are compassion ministries, evangelism, discipleship, and church planting. According to their website, two out of five people in the world have never heard the Gospel. They encourage the indigenous leaders to reach their communities with the Gospel. In addition, they have statistics that allow you to see what they’ve done.  98,000 people have been saved through this ministry and their work. They have planted 75 churches, and they have constructed 11 outreach centers. This organization has had a huge impact on China and Thailand. I encourage you to give to them, or to a local Christian organization in your community. If you would like to give, here is a link to their website! https://withinreachglobal.org/about/

Throughout the last two months, donations have been pouring in. NorthStar’s goal was $6,000. We have exceeded that goal, earning $6,068. This is incredible. By reaching this goal, NSA is able to support so many people. NSA is able to support twelve local missionaries for six months. In addition, they are able to support a few of the small projects that are happening. Along with being able to support local missionaries, we are supporting the spread of the Gospel. This is part of the great commission in Matthew. Even though the Blessing Project has come to an end, you can still give to Within Reach Global, through the link above.
