Thanks For Everything, Mrs. Meyer!

Mrs. April Meyer is the Navigator’s amazing teacher advisor. For most years of the Navigator’s existence, she has been guiding staff after staff towards being the best student newspaper possible. This trend continued this year as she provided amazing feedback on articles, led our semi-weekly calls, helped each staff member in a unique way, and taught the NAVI280 Live course. Therefore, the staff has come together to give some thanks to Mrs. Meyer for all she has done for the staff over the 2024-2025 school year.

Onyi: Mrs. Meyer, thank you for your commitment to this newspaper! This has been a great year with many changes to the Navigator, and you’ve overseen it all with wisdom and skill. Your feedback is helpful and personal, allowing me to find ways I can improve my work! I’ve enjoyed working with you this year.

Ellie: Mrs. Meyer, I love having you as my teacher! I always appreciate how encouraging, kind, and helpful you are. Thank you so much for everything you do for the Navigator and for me! I am excited to continue to have you as my teacher, and I appreciate you so much!  

Avery:  Mrs. Meyer, thank you for all you do for the Nav! I am so thankful to have you as one of my teachers. Thank you for always being encouraging and providing great feedback. I have loved getting to be a writer for the Nav! I can't wait for one more year!

Brooklyn: Mrs. Meyer, thank you so much for all you do for NSA and the Nav! Your feedback is always so encouraging and I love hearing your suggestions on how to improve my writing. I also love when I'm in class and I hear you say, "Story Time!" I'm so grateful that you are one of my teachers and I wish everyone had the chance to be your student. Your love for Christ is so inspiring too. I'm already excited to come back to the Nav next year!

Michael: Mrs. Meyer, you have been my teacher, in some capacity, every year in high school. I am so thankful for you pouring into me and helping to grow me as a writer. Your feedback has always been very encouraging and helpful. As I said last year, I would recommend that people join the Nav just to have you as a teacher. Thank you for everything!

Jared: Mrs Meyer you have been one of the most amazing teachers I’ve ever had. Not only have you successfully led courses and taught subjects in a way that makes your students feel empowered and not scared of learning, but you have also created teams to make an ever-advancing newspaper website! I have always enjoyed being able to talk to you about anything and never felt forced to just talk about school. You’re extremely fun and kind and light up the room. Thank you for everything!

Jonah: Mrs. Meyer, I want to thank you so much for being an amazing teacher. I have always appreciated how you invited me to the Navigator, because I highly doubt I would have joined on my own. I love being part of the school newspaper and part of that is because you make it such a creative and fun place. It really feels like something that we as the students can make our own! 

Joseph: Mrs. Meyer, I appreciate all you do for us at the Navigator! You give valuable feedback on our assignments and do a lot to ensure we truly understand the concepts covered in the course. Your live sessions are engaging and serve as a valuable resource for us to collaborate and give encouragement on the progress of our articles. I was unsure how this class would go when I joined it this year, but it has exceeded my wildest expectations. Thank you for your time, effort, and passion for teaching us; I look forward to being part of the Navigator again next year!

Gracie: Mrs. Meyer, I cannot tell you how much what you do for us on the Navigator means to me.   I know I can count on you to direct me and give me wonderful, insightful feedback.  You care about your students and not just about their grades, and it shows.  You are one of my absolute favorite teachers, and I am honored to study in your class.  Thank you for your outstanding work this year!!

Graham: Mrs. Meyer, I truly appreciate everything you've done for all of us as over the course of this class. Your encouragement and kindness has helped me through a very difficult time of my life, and helped me become more confident in myself and my writing abilities. I don't know if I would have written any of the works I've created as if it wasn't for your support and warmth. Truly, thank you so much.

Zoe: Mrs. Meyer, I'm so grateful to have you as the teacher for the Nav! You are always extremely encouraging and supportive, and look to help us grow. I've learned so much about myself and my writing abilities this year, and it's thanks to you. Your feedback is always incredible, and it helps me (as well as all the other students) publish a final piece that is as good as it can be. I've enjoyed being in your class so much, and I'm so excited that I'll be able to be in the Nav for my last year here and continue to grow in my writing abilities!

Keziah: Mrs. Meyer, I'm so glad I was able to meet you this year and have you as my teacher. You have such a kind and helpful personality that makes me want to do my best work, and I love to hear all of your stories about what happens in your life. I'm excited for what's to come next year at the Navigator!

Alex: Thank you for all you have done this year, Mrs. Meyer. Your feedback on my articles is always super informative and positive. It is clear to me that you love what you teach, and I am so glad I have been able to be your student again this year.
