The Relief of Our Crew: Honoring the Seniors Who Shaped the Navigator

By Mrs. April Meyer

As this school year draws to a close for the Navigator, the completion feels different, very, very different. Out of my ten staff members, eight of them are graduating seniors: Zoe, Brooklyn, Keziah, Jared, Alex, Avery, Jonah, and Onyi. Truthfully, I don’t know how to say goodbye to this many seniors. Our staff next year will not be the same. And our newspaper won’t be the same–it will be better because of these seniors who have left behind a heritage of excellence, devotion, and direction.

Our seniors are sailing away to new callings and places, and I couldn’t be prouder or more excited for them. As their teacher advisor, I see the future as a brighter place because they will be there, improving their next pursuit, just as they have done for the Nav.

Zoe, Brooklyn, Keziah, Jared, Alex, Avery, Jonah, and Onyi–thank you! Thank you for your leadership in writing, editing, and managing. And thank you for making this year easy, even though publishing a newspaper is never easy. Through the time you gave, the work felt effortless.

You have given us an example to follow for the future!
