Why Join the Navigator?

In my earlier times at NorthStar Academy, I wanted to partake in a class that would be enjoyable and engaging. Tentatively, I signed up for the NorthStar Navigator, a choice that was well worth it. The class, to this day, has proved fun, interesting, and engaging. The NorthStar Navigator is NSA’s very own school newspaper. Its articles are invented, written, edited, and published by students. But why should someone sign up to join the Nav, as the NorthStar Navigator is affectionately nicknamed? This article will provide answers to that question.
Firstly, the Navigator’s staff are all very kind and welcoming. Veterans of the Nav feel at ease and happy with their classmates and teacher. New members of the staff are welcomed cheerfully and eagerly. Jokes and banter are frequently exchanged during meetings, adding some levity and camaraderie to the event. After meetings, students can reach out to each other to expand upon conversations held and friendships made.
The Navigator also encourages creativity and unique ideas. Anything from informational articles on sports, dating advice, video game reviews, and short stories can be published on the Nav. Practically anything that can be reported on can be made into an article and published on the website. The website displays everyone’s work, ensuring the staff’s hard work is shared and shown to readers.
If the idea of writing an article seems daunting, other positions are available. Editors work to help improve the quality of the journalists’ work by offering advice, changes to make, and reminders on subjects like proper sentence structure, grammar, conjugation, and other issues regarding the English language’s more complicated facets. Image managers are responsible for anything and everything regarding, as the name implies, images. They ensure that writers do not use images that are subject to copyright in their articles, help insert the pictures students want to use in their work, and any other image related job that needs to be done. Many more similar roles are open to anyone who wishes to apply. For example, people are needed to help in the management of the Navigator’s website, or in publishing. New people are always needed as the scope of the Navigator expands, so there is no need to worry about too many people occupying a role. If someone is on the fence about joining, they do not need to worry. Open houses, where people who are interested but not sure about joining the Nav can join one of the calls where the staff’s meetings are hosted and get a feel for what it is like. It is for these reasons that anyone interested should join the Nav. Its staff sincerely look forward to seeing you soon!
